Greek mezzo-soprano Chrysanthi Spitadi was a member of the ensemble of the Theater und Philharmonie Thüringen from September 2011 until July 2014.
Chrysanthi made her debut as Charlotte in the new production of Werther under the direction of Roland Schwab and as Auntie in Britten's Peter Grimes uder the direction of Kai Kuntze. She was also heard as Sonjetka in Schostakowitz' Lady Macbeth of Mzensk, as Viviane in Moise Simon's Operetta Toi c'est moi and as Olga in a new production of Lustige Witwe.
In concert, she sang the solo parts in Verdi’s Requiem as well as Beethoven’s IX Symphony.
Amongst her most important performed roles are among others Bizet's Carmen, Hänsel and Knusperhexe from E.Humperdinck's Hänsel und Gretel, Frau Reich in Otto Nikolai's Lustige Weiber, Prinz Orlofsky in Strauss' Fledermaus, Drite Dame in Mozart's Zauberflöte, Marcellina in Rossini's Barbiere di Siviglia, Tisbe in Rossini's Cenerentola etc.
In summer 2009 the young mezzo made her professional debut as Carmen in Chur Switzerland in the occasion of the International Audition Competition of Schlossoper Haldenstein Festival.
In December 2009 she was heared at the Vienna Schlosstheater Schönbrunn as Knusperhexe in Huperdincks Hänsel und Gretel.
In summer 2010 she appeared in the Title role of Bizet's Carmen at the Oper Klosterneuburg in Vienna.
In January 2010 she was one of the six finalists of the Emerich Smola Competition.
In the 2010/11 season she made her debut at the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden as Federica in a a new production of Verdi's Luisa Miller.
Chrysanthi Spitadi began her studies in the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, where she studied under the watchful eye of Julia Bauer-Huppmann where she graduated, recieving the title Magister Artium in 2009. While completing her studies in solo singing, she also studied musical theater dance and acting (classical ballet, jazz, modern, stepdance) in the Vienna University where she graduated in 2007. She has also studied Theatrology at the Athens University where she received her degrees in 2007.
The singer has also been heard on the concert platform and in song recitals in Vienna, Poland, Switzerland, France and Greece Megaron. Except from Greek as her mothertongue Chrysanthi speaks fluently english, french, german, spanish and italian.
